Fort Lauderdale, FL — St. Thomas Aquinas volleyball fed off an incredible home crowd Wednesday night and delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, sweeping rival Cardinal Gibbons in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-7. The Raiders set the tone early, controlling the pace from the first serve and gaining confidence with every rally. By the third set, momentum was fully on their side as the team closed out the match with a dominant finish.
What truly made the difference was the atmosphere inside the STA gymnasium. From the opening whistle, the crowd was loud, engaged, and determined to push their team forward. Every big point was met with thunderous cheers, and the energy created a momentum that clearly lifted the players on the court. The Raiders rode that wave, playing with confidence and aggression that overwhelmed their opponent and secured the sweep.
With the victory, St. Thomas Aquinas improved to 14-4 on the season, extending their winning streak and cementing their place as one of the area’s toughest programs. The Raiders now look ahead to another home matchup against South Plantation on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
It was more than just a win — it was a showcase of what happens when talent, preparation, and an energized STA community come together. On a night when the crowd and the team were completely in sync, the Raiders proved unstoppable.
