The St. Thomas Aquinas basketball teams went on the road to Pembroke Pines Charter and handled business this past week.
First, the girls basketball team secured one of their biggest wins of the season with a 70-30 triumph. The squad, now with a record of 13-7, has just one regular season game vs Coral Springs Charter and the Big 8 tournament before they enter postseason play.
The boys team bounced back after suffering just their second loss of the season on Monday vs North Broward Prep in a two point defeat. STA started and finished strong in a solid 58-44 win over the Jaguars. Five players finished in double figures with DJ Wimbley leading the way with 15 points.
STA plays on Friday and Saturday this weekend at home as they host the Steve Strand Classic.
