The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders varsity baseball team continued its strong 2026 spring campaign with a standout performance in the BCAA (Broward County Athletic Association) Tournament, showcasing grit, clutch hitting and resilient pitching to edge out key rivals and solidify their position among Broward County’s elite.
The Raiders opened their BCAA Tournament slate with a series of victories over tough local competition. STA’s offense clicked early and often, highlighted by a 7-2 win over Cardinal Gibbons High School and a 4-2 victory against Chaminade‑Madonna College Preparatory School, setting the tone for a deep postseason run.
Their biggest test came in the thrilling BCAA Tournament game against West Broward High School. In a back-and-forth battle filled with late-inning drama, STA came out on top with a 9-8 win, rallying to secure the tournament victory in walk-off fashion and extending their winning streak.
The Raiders’ BCAA success adds to an early season marked by competitive play, strong fundamentals and balanced production both at the plate and on the mound. As STA heads into the remainder of its schedule — including games against regional foes such as Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and others — fans and players alike are optimistic about a deep postseason run.
With consistent pitching, timely hitting and a defense that has bent but seldom broken, the Raiders are poised not only for additional tournament success but also to make noise in district and state classification play later this spring.
