It was another busy and successful week for the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders Swimming and Diving program, as both the boys’ and girls’ teams continued to prove themselves against top competition.
On Thursday, the Raiders toppled rival Douglas in dual meet action. The girls improved their record to 6–1 on the season, while the boys remained undefeated at 7–0 in head-to-head dual meets.
The girls’ team was fueled by event wins from Captain Carolyn Levy-Powell, Addison Scott, Co-Captain Lena Lajko, Aaleyah Osouna, and Co-Captain Sarah Vasquez.
On the boys’ side, victories came from Captain Mason Jimenez, Will McAndrews, Luis Quingatuna, Sam Eastaugh, Rocco Herran Garcia, Louie Fratarcangeli, Lucas Verity, Co-Captain John Corbett, Manny Arencibia, Cannor Jimenez, and Tikhon Kolobov.
The momentum carried into Saturday, when the Raiders made their return to the Pine Crest Woodson Invitational for the first time in nearly a decade. The girls’ team earned a Runner-up finish, while the boys placed fifth overall. Both squads held strong to their No. 2 ranking in Broward County in the latest polls.
Individually, Captain Carolyn Levy-Powell delivered a standout performance, becoming the only female athlete at the meet to win two individual events. Her victory in the 100 Butterfly qualified for All-American consideration, while her time in the 100 Backstroke set a new STA school record with a mark of 56.23—breaking the previous record set in 2023 by alumna Julianne McCranie.
The Raiders will look to build on this momentum as they continue their push toward postseason competition.
