For the fifth time this year, the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders have hoisted a state championship trophy. On Sat., May 17, the Raiders baseball team defeated Bucholz 8-3 to clinch the FHSAA Class 6A State Championship. It is the program’s fourth state title and first since 2018.
The Raiders already had a historical season before the State Series, setting a program record in home runs and dominating the competition in the second half of the season. The momentum carried over and the Raiders, as the no.2 seed, accomplished their ultimate goal.
STA finishes the year 29-6-1 and will be ranked in the Top 25 nationally by MaxPreps. On graduation day for the Raiders seniors, they etched their name into the history books. They brought home the 135th State Championship in the school’s history and will always be remembered.
