The St. Thomas Aquinas girls soccer team sits one game away from the FHSAA Class 6A State Championship. After trailing 0-0 at halftime vs the four seed Lakewood Ranch, the Raiders made key halftime adjustments that propelled them to a 2-0 victory and a spot in the final.
STA’s defense has been stout all season, only allowing 9 goals in 23 contests. That strong backline continued to excel throughout the contest, and in the second half, the offense joined the party.
The Raiders will face Bartram Trail on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. with the winner hoisting the state championship trophy.
The game can be live streamed on the NFHS Network.
