The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders continued their outstanding 2025-26 campaign with both the boys and girls basketball teams advancing to the FHSAA regional finals, keeping the Raider blue and gold alive in the state championship hunt.
The Raiders girls basketball team earned a hard-fought victory in the regional semifinal round, defeating Mater Lakes Academy by a score of 78-30 to move one step closer to a regional title and a berth in the state tournament. After dominating early rounds with decisive wins—including a 98-13 rout of Boyd Anderson and a dominant performance over Coral Springs—the girls showed poise and offensive firepower against postseason competition en route to the regional final matchup.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas boys basketball has been equally impressive throughout the district and regional playoff stretch. The Raiders secured the Class 6A-14 District Championship before rolling into regional tournament play with momentum on their side. On Saturday, STA shut down Boyd Anderson with a resounding 64-37 win, setting up a berth in the regional final. The boys’ balanced scoring and team defense have been hallmarks of their run, reflecting the season-long depth and discipline that head coach and staff have emphasized.
These regional finals appearances mark another high point in a proud basketball tradition at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Both programs have shown resilience and competitiveness throughout the season, battling through tough district schedules and seizing key postseason moments when it mattered most.
As the Raiders prepare for their regional championship games later this week, the St. Thomas Aquinas community is rallying behind both squads in hopes of carrying that success into the FHSAA State Final Four. The girls face Nova on Fri., Feb 27 at 7:00 p.m. while the boys face Miramar on Sat., Feb 28 also at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be played at St. Thomas Aquinas
