The St. Thomas Aquinas volleyball team came within just a few points of a third straight state title, falling 3–2 in a heart-stopping championship match. Though the final result stings, the Raiders’ season was nothing short of extraordinary — defined by dominance, unity, and relentless drive.
Aquinas finished the year 27–5, capturing both district and regional championships while establishing themselves among Florida’s elite programs. The Raiders were nearly untouchable for two months, going undefeated since mid-September and losing only one set in postseason play before the state final.
Their season featured impressive wins over top-ranked opponents, steady leadership from veteran players, and breakout performances across the roster. Whether sweeping regional foes or outlasting national-caliber competition in five-set battles, the Raiders consistently showed championship poise.
In the title match, Aquinas fought with trademark resilience — trading sets, rallying under pressure, and pushing the contest to the decisive fifth. Even in defeat, their composure and heart reflected the championship standard that has become the hallmark of STA volleyball.
While the quest for another trophy came up just short, the 2025 Raiders solidified their place among the program’s all-time great teams — a group defined not by one match, but by months of excellence, teamwork, and pride in representing St. Thomas Aquinas.
