The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders showcased their dominance with a 42–7 win over the Columbus Explorers at Tropical Park Stadium on Friday night, improving their record to 2–1.
Senior quarterback Mason Mallory led the offense, completing 17 of 21 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, including a 30-yard connection with Julius Jones. Running back Jaden Desir was a force on the ground and through the air, scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 60 yards. Isaiah Calixte added 101 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Morris Choice contributed a rushing touchdown as well.
The Raiders’ defense was relentless, limiting Columbus to just 7 points. Cornerbacks Jaden Carey and Zayden Gamble anchored the secondary with interceptions, while the defensive line applied consistent pressure, forcing turnovers and stifling the Explorers’ offense.
St. Thomas Aquinas built an early 7–0 lead and never looked back, extending the advantage to 28–0 by halftime and adding two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
The Raiders look to carry this momentum into their Homecoming game vs Western on Sept. 12th at 7:00 p.m.
