The St. Thomas Aquinas football program is set to make history this fall with an international matchup on one of the sport’s most prestigious stages. On Tuesday, October 8, 2025, the Raiders will travel to London, England to face the NFL Academy at the world-class Tottenham Hotspur Stadium — home to the NFL’s annual London Games.
The announcement was made on campus by Nike’s Scott Henson, Athletic Director Twan Russell, and Head Coach Roger Harriot, who shared the excitement of taking the Raider brand to a global audience.
Founded in 2019, the NFL Academy is an elite UK-based program that develops student-athletes through a combination of high-level football training and academic education. The October matchup will not only showcase talent on the field, but also serve as a cultural exchange and life experience for both teams.
The game will be played in one of the most advanced stadiums in the world, designed specifically to host both Premier League soccer matches and NFL games. For STA student-athletes, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to compete where some of the sport’s biggest names have played.
As the countdown to kickoff begins, Raider Nation is ready to make its mark in London. The journey is set. The stage is global. And on October 8th, St. Thomas Aquinas Football will proudly wear the blue and gold across the pond.
