In only our 2nd time at Scholastic Nationals, we entered the most competitive events – the 1st and 2nd Varsity 8s – for the 1st time. In our 1st time at Scholastic Nationals last year, Our Junior 8 earned 2nd in the Nation and our Junior 4 placed 11th. This year, we raised our bar and entered the Varsity 8s!
The 1st 8 had a rough Heat but still made it through to the Semi Finals. In the Semis, they brought 110% to ensure they would make it through to the Grand Final. And, they did! In the Grand Final they ended up 6th which put us as the 6th Best Varsity 8 in the Nation! Making the Grand Final in our 1st time as a Varsity 8 at Nationals is a huge accomplishment!
Our 2nd 8 finished 7th in the Semi Final missing qualifying for the Grand Final by 2 seconds. But, getting the 7th fastest time in the Semi earned them 7th place in the Nation!
Our 1st 8 was
Sasha Krasnopolskiy, Francesca Brown, Sheridan Wolfe, Noa Elbahri, Sienna Wells, Alicia Longo, Natalie Stratmann, Ella Bryntesen and Isa Odabachian.
Our 2nd 8 was Ashling Pender, Sarah Kuhne, Chloe Vosdoganes-Forman, Camila Masias, Emma Pliske, Rylan Dudley, Remi Klein, Joanne Roy and Sofia Arias.
We can’t wait for next year to strive to be even better!
